     Caney Valley Electric, is a small electric cooperative serving over 5,400 meters in southeast Kansas at the foot of the picturesque Flint Hills. It is our mission to give the best reliable service, at the lowest possible cost, to all of our consumers. Heat Pump Loans

Caney Valley Electric will make conservation loans for the installation of ground source heat pumps.  Additional loan funds may be advanced for the following purposes, provided these are completed in conjunction with the installation of the ground source heat pump: 1) caulking, 2) weatherstripping, 3) ceiling insulation, 4) wall insulation, 5) floor insulation, 6) duct insulation, 7) pipe insulation, 8) water heater insulation, 9) storm windows, 10) thermal windows, 11) storm or thermal doors, and 12) attic ventilation fans.

To qualify for the loan program, the following requirements must be met:

  1. Loans may be made to owners of structures receiving electric service from the Cooperative.
  2. Loans will not be made to refinance equipment or weatherization obligations, or for weatherizing new structures to be built or under construction.
  3. Consumer members must meet reasonable standards of credit-worthiness.
  4. Heat pumps must have a SEER of 10 or more.
  5. The heat pump loan application must be supported by an energy audit.

The interest rate shall be 5% per year on the unpaid balance, and loans will be limited to 80% of the total improvements made.
