     Caney Valley Electric, is a small electric cooperative serving over 5,400 meters in southeast Kansas at the foot of the picturesque Flint Hills. It is our mission to give the best reliable service, at the lowest possible cost, to all of our consumers. Energy Conservation Loans

   Caney Valley will make energy conservation loans to qualifying members for the installation of ground source heat pumps.  Additional loan funds may be advanced for the following, provided they are completed in conjunction with the installation of a ground source heat pump: caulking, weather stripping, storm or thermal windows or doors, attic ventilation fans, or insulation of ceilings, walls, floors, ducts, pipes or water heaters.

Key Information

  • The interest rate shall be 5% per annum on the unpaid balance of the loan.
  • Loans will be limited to 80% of the total improvements made.
  • Minimum loan will be $1,000.

Economic Development Loans

    The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Utilities Service (RUS) has available zero-percent economic development loans.  These funds may be made available to recipients to finance financially viable economic development or job creation projects in a rural area.  If you are interested in this program, call or visit Caney Valley Electric and we can provide you with further contact information.
